What Did We Do On Our Summer Vacations…

Thank you for your enthusiastic inquiries about what's been happening at SoulStar!

Sharlene has been squirreled away for most of the summer working with our website design team located in Milan (yes, as in Italy!). It has been quite an intensive process, but the laboring has really been worth the effort.

Cynthia spent the summer laying down tracks for our eBook, “Awakening Your Woman's Soul: 8 Secrets To Finding Your Authentic Self”. She hit the open page with a fast writing pen on a Creative Pilgrimage that took her lakeside to a magical cabin in The Pas, Manitoba and then again into the soulFULL British Columbia landscape on a homecoming trip to the shores of Vancouver Island.

In between August's new moon and full moon eclipses, Sharlene discovered a hidden talent. One day she just decided to “try out” digital drawing and voila she has been doing virtual drawings of flowers ever since. To the left is a little sample of what's been unfolding for Shar.

She also started a new business with kindred spirit, and designer extraordinaire, Amelia Wolff. The company is a catalyst for "do-it-yourselfers" who want to create beautiful cards from online downloadable templates. There'll be more information on that as they launch their website in October at: http://www.CreateAmazingCards.com.

Part of what we enjoy about running our own business is the flexibility and freedom to go with the flow of life. There's that saying “A rolling stone gathers no moss” and this month, our feature article is all about the power of stones. Meet Kaia, “A Girl, A Bean, And 8 Small Stones.” We're branching out into a new writing genre – let us know what you think of our little fable!

The Fable

Once upon a time, there was a little girl name Kaia who was wise beyond her years. She was a joyful gal with a sassy personality who just happened to have the habit of picking up stones. Her brothers would tease her, “There goes Kaia with her pocket full of useless stones. Such a strange thing to do.” Kaia only smiled back. She didn't think it was odd at all.

As Kaia grew older, her fascination with stones continued. By now, her collection had grown to include eight special stones. There was more to these stones than met the eye. In some ways, her stones were like playmates. You see, each one had a different personality with unique qualities that she could feel as she held them in the palm of her hand. She didn't choose them, they chose her.

On her 13th birthday, Kaia's Grandmother gifted her a bean. She said, “Kaia, this is no ordinary bean. Care for it, and the bean will reveal something magic to you.” Kaia was delighted. She remembered the story of “Jack And The Beanstalk” and wondered if this would lead her to a goose that laid golden eggs.

Kaia carefully picked a spot in her family's garden to plant the bean, but the earth was dry and hard. It didn't seem like it would be easy to set roots there so Kaia placed her red square-shaped stone near the bean. This stone's qualities would help the bean ground itself, connect with the energy of the earth, and help it feel a sense of belonging. She knew the red stone would give the bean courage to deeply root itself so it would have the strength to push through the rigid soil. She waited for the bean's magic to happen.

A week later, Kaia noticed that the little bean had sprouted and was gently peeking through. It had begun to grow roots and shoots. She thought she could help it by placing her orange triangle-shaped stone next to the red one. This stone's qualities would help the bean to create and nurture itself. Kaia knew the orange stone would make it easier for the little bean to birth into the world from a sprout to a seedling developing strong stems, leaves, and roots. She waited for the bean's magic to happen.

The little bean inched its way past the ground. It was a season of thunderstorms and strong rain. The little bean plant began to droop. Kaia added her yellow round stone next to the orange one. This stone's qualities would help the bean to overcome adversity and believe in itself. She knew the yellow stone would help the seedling to harness its willpower and become the very best bean plant that it could be - bright and strong like the sun. She waited for the bean's magic to happen.

Soon enough, the bean started growing into a stalk. Now that it was well grounded and strengthened in the middle, little flowers began to bud. Kaia placed her pink heart-shaped stone next to the yellow one for added power. She visualized the bud opening its face to the world and giving unconditionally by sharing its flowering beauty. She waited for the bean's magic to happen.

The following week, Kaia witnessed the flowers blooming and with great joy, she saw her little bean beginning to show its full expression of “bean-ness.” Kaia thoughtfully placed her sky blue triangle stone next to the pink one. This stone, she thought to herself, is to help the bean mature into its true potential. With the hope of emerging growth, she waited for the bean's magic to happen.

Just when Kaia thought the bean needed no further support, it reached a plateau and would not grow taller. It was clear that she needed to place her indigo stone at the foot of the bean's stalk and gave thanks to the bean for its own inner knowledge, understanding, and bean essence. Almost before her eyes, the tendrils of the beanstalk began to climb higher and higher. And where the flowers once were, small little beans started to grow! She waited for the bean's magic to happen.

As the summer neared to an end, Kaia had a whole string of beans ripening on the stalk. She placed a white stone next to the indigo one and this stone's power had tapped into the bean's imagination of what it could become and helped manifest the promise of a fruitful harvest. She waited for the bean's magic to happen.

Just before harvesting, Kaia placed a star shaped magenta stone next to the white stone. It was a great celebration that her bean had reached its highest potential and had come into “being.” What started out as a small bean had now manifested into the largest bean harvest in the town's history.

Kaia brought some beans to her Grandmother. Her Grandmother sensed Kaia's disappointment, “What's the matter Kaia?” Kaia replied, “It is a great miracle that the little bean had borne so many beans. But there is no goose, no golden egg, no Jack and no beanstalk. What happened to the bean's magic?”

Grandmother chuckled gently, “ Better than the goose or the golden eggs, Kaia, the magic of the bean lies in the magic within yourself. Did you know that the name “Kaia” means “stone ?” You see, you have the gift of speaking with stones and using their power to manifest good in the world. Your knowledge of the eight stones helped the bean be centered in its true nature so it could become its authentic self. This bean is just the beginning.”

Little did Kaia know that in helping the bean that she would help herself and the world. With the healing knowledge of the eight stones, Kaia is able to help others heal themselves and manifest their true destinies.

And so, the moral of the story is…”If you've “bean” there, done that and are looking to grow into your true self, help is never more than a stone's throw away!”

The Application: Support Through Stones

The energies of crystals and stones can profoundly impact your healing needs. Whether used for emotional support or treatment of illness, stones are a powerful force in natural healing.
